Hello all.
Good manners would, I presume, recommend I introduce myself.
Briefly.
42 years old, management consultant, father of three daughters and five dogs.
Italian by birth. American by education and marriage. Currently residing in Cenrtal-Eastern Europe for professional reasons.
Fond of things Milanese, but aspiring to integrate some of the trad elements into that style
Wearer of repps, fancies and bowties. Obsessive pocket square collector. Lover of suede shoes and monkstraps.
Now for the question: I do ot own a natural shoulder suit. Are my only choices Brooks, Ben Silver and J. Press, or is there something fancier to be had? Is the notion of 'something fancier' negating the whole point of trad? And have you been asked these questions enough already?
Some of my own tastes are similar to yours (suede shoes, striped ties, Italian prep). Saint Andrews is as Marc described but is difficult to find in the U.S. Saint Andrews also formerly made the clothes for Luciano Barbera, which continues to have a softer silhouette than the Neopolitans. You might try to find Barbera. I'm wearing an olive Barbera sport jacket today with a blue royal oxford button down shirt and suede Crockett & Jones penny loafer (but Hermes tie), as a nod to trad.
Regards,
Steven
P.S. I appreciate the introduction. Flannel has always been my favorite.

I've never knowingly seen a Ben Silver jacket but I can tell you that both Brooks and Press have anything but a natural shoulder. The coats tend to be rather rigid and well-padded.
Here is Saint Andrews' Website...

Saint Andrews also makes suits for Paul Stuart if you find yourself in NYC.
I suspect what you want is Alan Flusser, in the trad tradition but with a bit more style. Say what you want, his taste is good, and he knows it all, for sure. He has a shop somewhere in midtown Manhattan.
PS custom and now MTM, talk to him. he knows it all.
Thank you all.
I will have a look at Saint Andrews next time I am in Milan.
Also, I like some of Flusser's things. Can I mention someone's name when I go there?
