BLOGATEERS

The new name for a blagging blogger (eg Crompie) should be a 'blogateer' (one who commits piracy on the i-seas); which derives from a combination of:'blogger', 'privateer', 'buccaneer' and 'rackateer'.

I'm Reckless Reggie of the Regent Palace,
I'm in love with every gal;
I flirt with Maudie and I flirt with Alice,
I'm a real life Regent's pal.

Re: BLOGATEERS

I was thinking of that para 1950s futuro series film "The Rocketeer" or "Buckaroo Banzai"

The mistake most clothing bloggers make is the "Be like me" one. It's better to introduce a whole concept and then show the subset you selected from.

Re: BLOGATEERS

The problem with the 'Blogateers' is that they are to late to the party.

...and we have drank all the champagne and pissed of with the best birds and what are they left with? Cheese on sticks.

Re: BLOGATEERS

PS - I just noticed that another Reggie (at least, I assume that it is another one) - just weighed in against blagging bloggers:

The more scorn the better.

Re: BLOGATEERS

filbert - I wasn't "defending" Simon whatsisname.

Just pointing out that a couple of extra commissions from a bit of publicity might go close to defraying the costs of the publicity - a discounted suit.

Tailors even SR no less - will have some advertising/sales budget - it might simply be a sign in the window or it might be a brochure or a small advert in a newspaper. An article appearing in a glossy well read magazine is highly prized - but not necessarily free. Some supply discounted clothes to TV and film shows in return for mention in credits and some photos of the "celebrity". None of it is free - at the least  lunch and time is involved.

"Our Hero" as you put it - isn't walking away with the tailors kids lunches or grannies heart medicine - hes walking away with a part of the tailors advertising /sales budget presumably judged well spent by the tailor (well at least as well spent as any other part of the advertising budget - impossible to judge most times)

I haven't really seen the suspect Simon's blog - for some reason I think he blocks Australian IP addresses - I can never get to see it.
