Re: Books you are currently reading

I am in the process of finishing off Das Kapital...this whole 'communism' thing seems very appealing.

Other than that I am reading Durkheim's Suicide...hmmm, this whole 'suicide' business seems intriguing.

But truly I am reading Simon Blackburn's Ethics and Jared Diamond's Guns, Germs, and Steel....The latter is like a fun little read.

Lots of pictures, words make me furrow my brows in awfully cute ways...then invariably, Salma Hayek starts telling me I'm adorable and I end up in a carnal twist that I never wanted...I just wanted to read the bookies

Working through Richard Pipes' books on the Russian Revolution. Also watching a 1966 Hammer film, "Rasputin, the Mad Monk" and amusing myself with this:

The Brentford Trilogy. Revisiting Mr. Rankin's masterpieces.

One of the darts team's son lives in a place that used to be The Flying Swan in the books(Bricklayers Arms) There is a little black ironwork swan on the outside now.

Brentford FC have a pay what you want game coming up the Saturday before Christmas which we will be attending

Bees are playing really well at the moment and I have watched excellent games against Sheffield Utd and MK Dons. Brentford will just fail on automatic promotion and lose in the play offs at Wembley. They always do.

Someone needs to explain the Marc Bolan worship to me in the UK and the Commonwealth.

I have the book, haven't read it. Will do.

We only know him for "Get it On" here but he seems to have more cultural clout in the UK.
