Re: Knitted Ties?

During my London trip, Mr. Nick Foulkes recommended I take a look at the Rubinacci knit ties.  I ended up buying one and I must say that the width and the thickness are perfect, in my opinion.

Re: Knitted Ties?

Speaking of knit ties, what does everyone think of the scarf shown here: http://www.kilgour.eu/collections/ss07/08/

I, myself, decided (why, I have no idea) to buy one in purple while I was visiting London last month.  I must admit, the texture is very interesting and definately sets the scarf apart from most every other silk scarf.

Re: Knitted Ties?

I was in Paul Stuart NYC the other day. I was going to pick up a couple of grenadine ties (Paul Stuart always knows how to line them just right for a good knot) and to my suprise they have stopped carrying the normal grenadine and in stead carry a tighter weave grenadine.

It looks closer to an actual or standard woven tie, a faux grenadine like Charvet sometimes make. Also they are almost $100. I don't think they are as nice, they certainly are more costly and many of the ties I looked at were snagged, which is ironic considering the reason I was given for the other grenadine's replacement was that they snagged too often.

O tradore O mores

Re: Knitted Ties?

I'm also wearing knit ties 9 times out of 10--they really suit summer jackets in madras or pincord or seersucker, and they are also very sharp with linen, I think.

After a long and frustrating search, I finally found a good orange one--looks extra-swell with a blue ginham shirt.

Re: Knitted Ties?

I know it was the same width as the knit I got from KJ Beckett earlier this year. :-)

It's in the country. I'll try to remember to dig it up this weekend.
