I will look Sammy, but those books typically push an agenda so they're worth being bought in the first place, the thing at the moment is pushing these short intensity workouts, which burn incredible amounts, and produce a lot of muscle. Walking is good for burning subcutaneous fat, but only compared to not moving at all.
But anyway, I'll give it a read. I'm not a bloody doctor so I can't argue with people's findings, but I've read a lot, personal experience is going on long runs will generally make you feel like a really healthy individual, but will not control blood sugar as well as weights, apparently most people become type 2 diabetic not through excessive sugar, but the fact the body does never produce insulin through lack of stimulas from muscle production.
If you do weights your body will crave sugar, as your muscles trigger insulin production for that sugar to be then taken up in the muscles. After that correction you can kick in the slow release carbs to build up the stores further. Anyway, like I said, this is what I've found.

In my opinion l would also add that l think most folks are probably protein deficient from eating cooked animal products. Why? So many men and women (most) have poor muscle tone who eat animal based diets, but if you switch the animal products to all raw sprouted greens you will find you quickly develop good muscle tone all over without any exercise. l think cooked dairy and meat contribute towards protein deficiency because of the low NUP (net utilizable protein) value of animals products and the fact that the protein is further reduced (at least 55%) by cooking (science has proven that steaming your food is the best way to cook it). Another problem is that folks who consume animal based diets normally lackn vitamin, B12, vitamin K and other B complex vitamins needed to properly utilize the protein. And if you think you doctor gives accurate blood tests...think again!!! Most doctors only test what is in the blood, not how much you absorb, + there is also word that blood tests have up to a 96% inaccuracy rate.
Anyway...why the heck would someone get their protein from meat or dairy??? That's secondary eating; the animal eats the grass and then you eat the animal, but why not get your nutrients directly instead of as a secondary source??? BUT...there is also the problem that most red meats are not grass fed, so you are even getting less nutrition. lt's no wonder diabetes and cancer is so high these days...people are starving to death on full stomachs and disease to drawn to the sewers that we call our body, and there is no phytonutrients and other good nutrients to keep the disease away so the body gets overwhelmed.
And no, the government and BIG pharma aren't going to save you. BIG pharma has been promising cures for cancer are just around the corner for the last fifty years (it's a con they use on naive people), and Obama's chief food and safety standard officer is an ex Monsanto employee who is intent on destroying the world food supply with GM, round-up (a highly toxic weed killer that goes into almost the entire food supply) and other dangerous chemicals which have been shown to cause cancer. The U.S government has had ex Monsanto employees for main food supply authorities for decades now, that's why the government doesn't want to label GM and other dangerous foods...they want us rabbits diseased and dead, that's why you will find that public healthcare will probably be taken away so all us diseased rabbits are left to defend for ourselves. People don't think about this stuff, but they should.

GM food is labelled in Australia. Childhood leukemia is almost cured. The introduction of milk at schools post Boer war saw an increase in the size of inner London cannon fodder er slum kids. Already for the First World War. An increase in meat into the Asian diet has seen rapid increase in the height of Asian kids in a generation. I'm not protein deficient and I have been checked. A balanced diet is they key.

lt's always good to load up on green drinks twice a day. l've just loaded up with a quart of clover sprout juice and i'm feeling completely off me tits mate, i'm smiling and feelin' real great! That's how it gets when you have the good foods, especially the green foods...nice calm happy moods with minimal stress ever. Traffic jams are now a pleasure, the green is very calming and balancing for people with busy and stressful lives. The purple foods are spiritual, that's why blue-green algae and dulse are so vital. The blue foods (rare) are for mental functioning, that's why bloo berry and blue-green algae are so important (life becomes like a great holiday when you have these foods). These are my favourite coloured foods because these are essential to keep good mental/emotional balance...no more getting upset and ego issues, but much more love, calmness and taking everything in one's stride.
When you have organic food, the world begins to make sense. When you consume chemicals you will never make sense of the world because the chemicals effect the brain poorly, but when you are free from that you will experience a new found clarity and peace. When l have non organic my clear thoughts become very foggy. We are in a constant state of fogginess and don't even know it until we make the effort to come out of it by detox, organic food and high raw diet...that's why we don't know what's going on in the world, we think we have real de jure governments and that we own our children and that we own stuff we buy, and we still believe the news and vote for dingbats. When you have those good foods you can change your life so much, and when you do you don't have to go through the bullshit any longer, you can be free.

Sprout dinner = a truely delightful beginning that will bring many great things your way and get you off your tits better than any other dinner possible.
Porridge day = just another shitty day
Sprout/weed day = always the potential for a 10/10 day, sometimes even a 11/10 day where you are in a great mood all day.

I've taken a few but don't really like the chemical cosh aspect to them, they can also induce mania in some people. The shake I use as a few of them in very low levels. say 10mg compared to the 600mg you might get in a ginseng tablet form.
My advice would be take one good daily multi-vit, Nature's Plus Gold, and combination of super green foods, Wheat grass, barley grass, spirulina and chlorella. And a vitamin D supplement, maybe even ask to have your levels checked.
Without sunlight we're all fucked, doesn't matter what you take, vitamin D however is attainable through the diet, but needs to be under monitoring to avoid toxicity, to give you some idea though it'd take 5/6 months of very high levels to cause toxicity apparently. I think they are reviewing how much we can take orally a day, doctors in Oz recommend, 5000 IU, over here I think it's 500/1000 IU, the body looks to produce 20,000IU through sun exposure. And we only hold it in our livers for 4 weeks. SO regular exposure is needed.
