I think it is pretty obvious Formby, you guys are only really interested in ripostes. More so than clothes, or the quality of the forum. If it dies it's because of that, not Jim being a lunatic.

Who is this rather weird fellah with the pint of Tetley's who just cannot keep going on and on and on about trolls - while maintaining several ids under the very same icon?
If core members of a forum like Bish, formby and Hepcat feel alienated you can either conclude that something is really amiss or you can follow the narrative of some TI mod that this is the result of spamming, trolling or whatever you want to call it. I am surprised that FNB has let this happen so easily, especially to formby who was one of the few who could match him in his level of knowledge and observation and who has contributed immensely to this forum.
I always thought that tinkering around with avatar names and deliberate mobbing by mods was something that only the other fora were guilty of.
It surprises me that this happened too and I know that my Father felt the same...
Mr. FNB has had no part in all of this. Very wisely I think.
The question my Father used to ask was why are loyal and valued FNB posters looking to stir things up in another section of FNB?
Not a question that interests me, I must say.
For I know man to be a creature of folly and caprice. A puckish creation.

OK, I guess that Formby "misbehaved" on Talk Ivy.
What does that have to do with The Wardrobe?
for all the stink about people going from the Wardrobe to Talk Ivy to talk trash, the only thing I see (seldom having frequented Talk Ivy) is a lot of too-haa about it here, including the "time out" of a well appreciated member of THIS forum by the moderator of ANOTHER forum.
Really, about the only sin in these forums worth excommunication is publishing private data but wait, I'd better shut up now...
Thanks for the kind words private and otherwise.
Now lets get back to business...

I think both forums (The Wardrobe and Talk Ivy) on FNB have a remarkable amount of zest, verve and creativity in them.
I like the positive, almost crusading things that go on here.
That's the forum I want to be a part of.
Working together that's what we can create. Working against each other we have nothing.
Keeping 'disorderly order' (Jim's coinage) in place is a difficult job. A 'time out' is always a last resort after everything else has been tried. Currently nobody is on one and there are no bannings. That there should ever need to be is a real shame.
That Jim-the-troll-magnet has absented himself so that there is nobody to aim personal attacks at to try to improve the situation says something. The forum is the thing, not any one individual ego.
My intention is just to keep 'disorderly order' and mop up the spam. It should be an easy gig providing nobody comes along looking to throw fireworks.

This can be kept going or not.
My interest is clothes.
Regards,
... I've no desire to defend Jim (he is usually deliberately indefensible), but all he does is always anti- the received wisdom.
... And more correctly if we are talking about his previous role here - All he DID.
He wanted something different online & created it with FNB's indulgence.
The future must decide if 'something different' is what the world of online menswear forums wants.
As a favour I've been building bridges and deleting spam for FNB over the past two days (with the exception of one post to wind up Mr. Ambrose one last time at Dad's request. Having done that I feel no need to personally ever engage with the chap again unless we are having a conversation over Ivy League style.)
I'm very happy that Talk Ivy is Ivy for the moment. Your spam situation here is one I'm less keen on being involved in.... But I don't mind being of use.
Ivy League menswear is a very specific thing and real knowledge and appreciation of it online in the West is remarkably rare.
A shame to lose all that just to pander to people who just want to mess about and have nothing to offer the Ivy forum.
Maybe ?
But you do have to actually care about Ivy to care about all this. Not just to love playing around online instead.

Sorry - I've just clocked that this is a new account. There was no need - Your old one is now perfectly good to go and has been for a spell.
Assuming that you are the real Sammy ????
It's all good.
