Saw the movie "Searching for Sugar Man".
Terrific story about a musician that totally bombs in the early 70's, yet becomes a huge hit and cultural icon in South Africa. Presumed to have died he is found to be alive working as a carpenter in the 1990's in Detroit.
Bought the album in ITunes. Listening to it now.
Do yourselves a favor, watch the movie.
Just found this performance, by Elaine Stritch, at the age of 80! Absolutely magnificent.

Just got my hands on Wire's 'change becomes us' and Carter Tutti Void's 'Transverse". A happy man this weekend.
I'm continuing with Mosaic's Johnny Smith box-set: all 15 of his Roost 10" and albums.
This guy was the ultimate cool jazz guitarist, but had to give it all up when his wife died and needed to look after his daughter, so bought a guitar instrument shop and headed on back west from New York.
A wonderful foray into neo-hipster American roots music named Harlem River Blues by Justin Townes Earle. Very rich, and true to form. Talented artists like these are few and far between.

Not only did The Ole Possum shuffle off, so did Bob Broznan, by his own hand. Bob was well-known here as he often visited and player. More importantly he was one of Robert Crumb's Cheap Suit Serenaders
Been playing George Jones.
As Waylon said....' If we could all sound like we really wanted to..... We'd all sound like George Jones'
Guess who?
