Your insightful essay, "The Boutique As Sartorial Temple," is replete with observations and comments which truly resonate with me, and I look forward to your further thoughts. Sadly, the great neighborhood men's stores have, for the most part, been replaced by malls and mammoth department stores. The last such New York establishment was the Kaiser Shop in Greenwich Village, which is no longer. When I traveled more extensively on business in past years, a source of enjoyment was popping into local men's stores to chat with the proprietor and pick out a wonderful tie or sweater, all of the highest quality. What always impressed me was the tremendous enthusiasm and passion for their work shared by the store owners and staff, who while not raking in tons of money, truly loved what they did, being surrounded by beautiful clothes and those who appreciate them.
