Key SR players have said that they are aware of this thread and are grateful for it. Poor Crompie: the end of the Blog is in sight.
That's good to know, Reggie.
Will we have to wait 4 years to see Cromps wear cowboy boots with his Huntsman shooting suit? - http://www.permanentstyle.co.uk/2013/06/lee-miller-bespoke-bootmaker-austin.html
"Lee’s boots start at $2000. Crocodile starts at $4000. Unfortunately there is a 4½- year waiting list."
Woah boy!
^ No matter how good the suit is, it will look bad on Crompy.
By the way - here's a long list of victims http://www.permanentstyle.co.uk/2013/06/the-1000th-post.html#comment-form
It also seems that Richard Anderson (despite what they say) were 'taken' by Crompie after all. Presumably, they would rather forget that he blagged them (which begs the question of why Crompie dissed them). It's quite a list - and quite a feat really. It is also clear that shoemakers are a damned site more careful with their resources than are tailors.
What a smug bugger is Crompie!! Fifty i-lashes.

The comments here http://www.permanentstyle.co.uk/2013/06/the-1000th-post.html#comment-form
really give rise to the suspicion that Crompie is writing them himself: 'sans ego'? !!!!!!!!!!! - and gratuitously dissing the very harmless James Sherwood - and publishing the disparagement - smacks of the revenge of the school bully-victim.

^ Good spot. The fawning posts by Anonymous/John are too OTT to be those of a genuine reader.
ETA - Perhaps Sherwood has been advising his contacts on and around the Row to stay clear of Crompton.
Some of Crompton's posts do have a distinct whiff of chippiness in them.

why is comps singled out as such a terrible blogger? why doesnt anyone mention the other prominent bloggers on tailoring, eg Will on SW for instance who sells stuff as well on his own website which could be seen as a greater conflict of interest?

I would guess that most of Will's customers are in the US. $145 for a Drake's tie is fair given the exchange rate, shipping costs and duties. Drake's charges about £115 in Clifford Street. Emma Willis and Richard Anderson charge about £120 for own label ties that are made by Drake's.

hmm i seem to remember exact prices when i see them elsewhere, habit from my time in the markets where i spent time arbitraging stocks, its unfortunate as once you start noticing these things it wipes the lustre from various purveyors reputations.
the concept of 'if you have to ask you cant afford it' is patent bullshit .. probably invented by some salesman to rip customers off.

The market will decide whether Will is overcharging or not.
He also doesn't seem short of a few bob anyway.
