Neil McCormack reviewing the Stones gave them an unbelievably positive review, 5 stars. I saw a bit on telly and thought they weren't all that but he used the 'you had to be there' line to all the TV viewer critics. I stopped liking the Stones in about 1967 after I had bought the single 'Ruby Tuesday/Let's spend the night together'. It was all downhill after that. I see Mick Jagger as one of the ruling elite corporate men and not some rebel.

If you were to ask someone to name a Rolling Stones track it would likely be one of their classic tracks from the 60's. This tells you all you need to know. They've done nothing of merit since Exile.

They ceased to be a rock band years ago and became a nostalgia act.

Sister Morphine is favourite track but Jagger and Richards ripped Marianne Faithfull off when they did it, claiming they wrote it.  Her's his hauntingly beautiful, theirs is mediocre..

^That's one of those great mysteries of how unispired, boredom and rank mediocrity is much more popular that genius.

I used to run a (not very good) blues/r&b band many years ago.  We were trying to find a lead guitarist.  Every time I could find a guitarist who was into blues I would ask them who their favourite player was.  Without exception they would pause, look thoughtful for a moment and then name Clappedout. 

Personally, I wouldn't listen to him playing blues if you paid me.

(Eventually I found a guitarist whose fave was Ry Cooder, which is not quite as bad, so he got the job.)
