I bought something very similar from a thrift store in Kalamazoo, MI.
It's branded 'Faded Glory', I didn't know at the time but that is like a US budget brand.
However, it's sack/slack, it's got flap and patch pockets, centre vent, no padding/lining at all. 3 button, but with an iron, easily 3/2 as the lapels are unlined (not done that...)
I've had it 6 years and its fine, I'm not going to grumble for 4 bucks plus tax.
So weighing out nearly 200 coins of the realm does seem a little OTT...I don't dislike them though, saying that.
In a picture showing Jason Jules in a blue one the jacket did look tip-top.
That's what I've said before about the Keydge. I've never seen one in the flesh, but it looks like the cheap unstructured blazers seen in Old Navy or J. Crew. Actually feeling and wearing one would maybe make a believer out of me, but I'm not into taking a chance for the money.

The olive is my 6th JKey ... For the fit and style posibilities it's a great deal
I'd like to feel and see one of these Key Edges meself. They do seem a bit expensive though.
I just picked up for $100 aud a new on sale cotton "jacket" navy blue - right shade, right length (a problem these days), patch hip pockets, no flaps, light, totally unpadded, lined in poly in sleeves cotton on body but still light, one vent, brown buttons.
Now if it had swelled/lapped edges I'd be thrilled.
It sits very casual somewhere between a cardi and a jacket. Collar doesn't sit down just right FOR A JACKET, but its almost what I wanted for summer - casual but dressier than a G4 type jacket, up from a cardi, would take a thin knit tie in a pinch, sort of like a cord jacket for summer, just right with khaki chinos, or white jeans, even my grey cotton trousers, can be worn in an office.
Now Ms. has this theory, and shes backed up by history, that comfortable /casualisation is the way to go. Shes always pointing out stuff in mens shops that is cardi like - even some suits in Japan that had a "Cardi Suit" look and feel. More structured looking than a cardi. Done right I'd accept it for some things. The Japanese ones were a bit young and tight and short - but its a style that will eventually emerge she says. I approve -with the usual caveats. Its not sloppy but it is casual and smart.
Copped J*Keydge from Aussie eBay for about forty Australian dollars.
I'll call it "other" too. It fills a hole in the wardrobe, but my expectations would be somewhat different if I had paid full tote odds. Surprisingly warm with plenty of good pockets.
fxh, which store are you referring to?
Also dont think im tellin people what they should or shouldnt wear to be 'ivy' its just my personal view of it I wear primark ffs!
I have to report that Thee Captain has lived in his Key-to-the-Edges all summer...closely followed by veste de travailles...actually it may be 50-50 tbh....
I have a fair few BB wash n wears, various vintage lightweights, a couple of Pendletons but have hardly touched them this year....I know not why other than I might have an inner desire to be French?!?
What is clear is that folk either love em or wanna slash em...which is sterling stuff of course....who wants to sit on the fence, huh?!?....
Right - where's my Gauloises....
I do like the Pendleton ones, nice Navy one here for grabs.

Tom - I think AC or Slacker had that! one size up would've been perfect for me.
Blimey it went quick - ha. Size small and it would have been mine?
I do like the topster but the topsman really is the hidden gem if you can find one.
My one is a 90s one I think and doesn't have welted edges.. what about the old ones Acton?
I think it is the money if they were 80 quid id say fair enough. If I was spending 220 id want everything perfect. Also I had an Italian guy wander in the shop the other day with a perfect olive 3 button unconstructed. Was darted but it just looked great... guess what it was a ralphy! Just looked perfect
