Re: Differences between American and English style

I think pockets of Englishness exist still. But on the whole hip hop and celebrity fashions still seem to be the main stay. Even to a pub of rural bums. Go to the right places at the right times you'll see England and its toffs but its like waiting out in a bird hide. The Thames Valley has its hotspots but the noveau riche have shat on a lot of it with eurotrash style and supercars.

The Traditional Britain Group is shortly to introduce proposals requiring all men to dress like Jacob Rees-Mogg MP.

That is a funny bloke. I read an interview with him one time that had me in stitches.

Re: Differences between American and English style

I think the difference really is between that of someone who lived it and someone that has researched it. .. but even the people that lived it will have their own point of view. Saying that a fact is a fact if the evidence is there. I like the insight people like stanshal bring and although when it comes to culture I cant comment on the real deal with the us. But ive got eyes so I can always judge how clothes look.

FNB cant tell me much about Britain but he can tell me a lot about its clothes.

Re: Differences between American and English style

Oops, my last post could be misunderstood very easily, I just realised.

I'm certainly interested in the topic of this thread.

What I meant was that I didn't like the way doghouse tried to turn this into the tired tirade against TI and its members, that there was something absurd about being into Ivy if you're from the UK, his assumption that we would believe that natural shoulder style was the only traditional American look...

Re: Differences between American and English style

Again its the jim and chen thing that has cursed ti on that front.  one angle its all about the heritage... chens angle cause its the only thing he had although did he go to one of the ancient 8? No

And jims angle they're just clothes.. one I subscribe to is the right to wear them.. especially in the everyman way wm wears it.

But when you talk about the history thats a separately issue and one that can be looked at objectively. He kind of swings between the two as it suits him

Contrary to lies of FNB and Woofboxer, I (and most of the other "Buff Bastards") have been banned from posting on this forum. There are only a few posters left so don't waste your time on here. This forum is dead and nobody cares.

I just like the fact with his character the did go for pattern and colour but it held to being in good taste.. now people just seem to go at it too hard. His outfits look exciting but not clownish.
