Yes. I believe the center vent is the "tradition" in hacking jackets.

I just think "hacking" jacket is sometimes, maybe erroneously, used as a synonym for tweed coat, or even sport coat. Maybe this is just a U.S. misnomer? I guess it's just a matter of how strictly you define a hacking jacket. Is it a structured English hunting jacket, with waist suppression, darts, and slanted pockets, or just a tweed jacket?
