Re: Ebay / Etsy alert

Has anyone suggested unvented jackets are strictly European?  Unlikely, as Carey Grant wore them.  However I still regard them as univy - no vent ruins the look, and Brooks experimenting in the 1930s hardly contradicts that.

Did Brooks continue offering ventless sacks beyond the 1930s?

P.S. As I never saw such an old no 1 suit apart from two  1930s items on the bay...

Re: Ebay / Etsy alert

Not all Brooks were 3/2 but this also could have been custom tailored at Brooks Brothers as the measurements don't read like RTW to me. I doubt that the vent was closed though. It really looks like it's maybe a late-40s or early-50s three button summer suit. I've seen many unvented from this period. If it were $150 less, I'd spring for it as it's still a beautiful suit but whoever's taking it at the price on the assumption that it's 1920's/30's vintage is getting duped!

If it's with a vent then certainly.  I'd buy one.

I'm curious as to how you came across such an item!
