Given the seemingly accelerating trend back to casual dress in the work place and the ubiquity of jeans and sneaks during leisure hours, are you resisting such changes in the dress code and continuing to wear suits/sport coats and ties for work and during your off-hours?
I'm still wearing the same stuff but in an ever more sloppy way.
Do I win anything?
Jeans are for cowboys. I'm not a cowboy.
Actually, I am probably headed in the other direction. I am seriously thinking of ordering a couple of three piece suits next Chan order. We'll see, though, still of two minds about that.
Always bespoke suits or blazers/odd jackets and ties for the office, khakis or shorts, bd shirts or polo shirts for weekends.
Coats and ties five days a week for work and also out to dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Saturday afternoons and Sundays are my casual days; kakhis, penny or tassel loafers, knit shirts in the summer, usually a Merino wool knit shirt or a crew-neck sweater over a shirt in the winter.
Never jeans, shorts, t-shirts or sneakers.
However, I really look like an odd-ball in this stuff. Most men always dress the way I did when I washed my car.

With the coming of hot weather where I live, I have stopped wearing ties to the office for the past week or so. Sometimes I wear an ascot with my open-necked shirt, sometimes not. I am still by far the best dressed man in my company. I will probably wear a tie tomorrow.
I fear this clothing obsession is making me even more weird. It's gotten to the point I really don't like to be seen in public places without a jacket on. Yesterday, I was wearing good dress-casual shoes, high-quality khakis and a decent sports shirt, yet I felt grubby and unkempt-looking despite the fact that I was still turned out much better than most other men I saw--all because I wasn't wearing a jacket.
No, I'd never wear whatever "casual" most others are wearing.
What I've always found appalling was how some internet gentlemen spend a great deal of time and money on their suits and on weekends look worse than some tourist from the MidWest--jean shorts? athletic shorts? Frightening.

I do find it a bit strange to pay $350-$400 per hour to my outside tax counsel (a partner in a major Detroit firm) who consistently wears Dockers with a polo shirt and boat shoes. But he's a bright man.
Regards,
Steven
P.S. As to the high quality labels (Kiton etc.) or bespoke discussed on the fora, I've never seen them worn or discussed by any friends or business associates.

When I'm in Florida/Caribbean I lean toward casual (sans ties and socks) , but when I'm up North I button up.
Suit and tie five days a week. Casual only on weekends, and that means looking smart even to fetch the newspaper or take out the garbage. I do not even step out the door in slobwear. By the same token, I am not one of those people who like walking around their house naked. I always prefer to be wearing something.
Our office goes to "cool biz" during the summer, which means tie optional, but I choose to continue wearing my tie to work, as I consider dressing well to be a form of professional competence, or at very least a courtesy.
