Other than the sweater vest (they should all be burned), the gentleman on the right is how I would love to look everytime I wear a suit.

Nice pics.  Dan Rather's signature sweater vest (worn under his Anderson & Sheppard suits) caused me to appreciate the sartorial and practical merits of the sweater vest, but I see Rather did not originate the look.  A thin, merino wool vest is best.

Sorry, I think Monty's outfit looks terrible.

The last of Marc's pics is just perfect.  For some reason people like Agnelli, the Duke of Windsor and Fred Astaire get so much more notice but in my eyes di Sica had more game.

Re: Two Leading Men with Different takes on Ivy

I was given a cream-colored spread-collar shirt when I was in law school many years ago, and was told it belonged to Montgomery Clift. The label was Micocci but there was no indication that it had been made for Clift. Nor was there any other way to confirm the story. Anyway, the silky shirt bore no traces of Ivy or button-down. It was as European as deSica.

Regards,

Steven

Re: Two Leading Men with Different takes on Ivy

Does anyone have a clue of what kind of fabric de Sicas suit is made in the first picture?
