Rudd and Obama are both unstylish (as well as being useless pair of cocksuckers) .. and I cant imagine anyone would want to emulate!
In general, I'm not a fan of wholecuts and would only consider wearing them with a dinner jacket (highly polished of course) instead of cap-toe oxfords or pumps.
Not many people realise that the RMs boots are really wholecuts too!
Never thought of it like that.
So they might be enhanced by coming up a bit higher where possible?
I'm always a bit conflicted by whole cut shoes.
On one hand in technical terms they are simple and plain - but they seem also to be showy and flash.
I see them as a nighttime cocktail shoe.
^ Not all Chelsea boots are wholecut i.e. with an upper made from a single piece of leather. RM Williams are wholecut most are not.
Formby, re no differences between Chelsea and whole cuts, yes but on,y if you are standing which is perhaps why I see them as cocktail.
BTW do you have a formby rule on trousers covering laces?

More crepuscular at times.
Its only 11.53pm went to bed early to read. Listening to interview on radio with Britten's biographer and they are playing bits of Britten as well. He died of heart problems due to syphilis . don't even know if that matters.
Yeah Ben. The biographer sounded interesting. If he can write as well it'll be a good read. The interviewer thought it good and he's a good man. It should be on the net by now. This mornings Music Show with Andy Ford on Radio National ABC.

Oh yeah - Thats what I'd call boot cut - what you said pretty much. Its common on work jeans. More so USA to accommodate that high calf boot. If done right it can give an OK look.
