In reply to Formby above, Luca Montezemolo is an an online darling because he is a famous rich Italian. Gianni Agnelli is also worshipped by the iGentry. Then there are the film star darlings - Archie Leach (aka Cary Grant), Fred Astaire and Marcello Mastroianni. It's just a form of celebrity worship.
I would not call Sexton's tailoring aggressive - just clean, sharp and structured as you said in your earlier comment. He has many famous women clients. His own individual style harks back to the 70s. It's distinctive and works well for him.
^ The top photo is definitely contrived. He looks like an "arriviste" from a third division public school. HMQ is avoiding eye contact and has a face like thunder.
Edward Fox in day of the jackal has a great English look, more English than Bond I think. Mind you his character is like the "anti Bond".

That's a pic of the Duke of Beaufort .. he was known for sprezz. Note no cufflinks, button cuffs . watch worn over cuff, the pochette exploding all over the place..
I guess if you've got loads of cash (or land), don't need a job, have loads of staff to do all the humdrum chores in life you have much time to develop a quirky style.

Seems to work in the art world, thought I saw a monograph of Picasso on the book shelf.
That explains it.
