I have to attend a real estate closing tomorrow. We're the buyers so I have to go somewhat conservative. I have definitely decided on my plain gray suit.
I have also picked out a blue glen plaid jp shirt. I could change that to a solid blue or white oxford, or a light blue or burgundy university stripe.
The tie is my real question. What colors would look good with the gray/blue thing? Stripes, dots, pattern?
Burgundy or walnut shoes?
Also, it's not just a closing. I've been working with this girl on it from the title company and she is going to be there...I might fall in love. I kind of have already. I've never met her, but she is such a sweetheart on the phone and I internet stalked her and found some pictures. Very cute east Asian. If it weren't creepy as hell I'd post them in the "cuddly" thread.
So, I need to look sharp, trustworthy, and handsome. I want to close two deals with the same clothes.
Women dont respond to clothing the way men do. Also, now, suddenly young men dont respond to clothing the way older men do.
Even better, we seem to be in an anything goes freefall. I was similarly worried about a meeting I had recently and whether a bold tie on a bold shirt would be too much. One of the men I met with who was pretty old had somewhat dirty white trainers with his dark suit and the other wore Some sort of astonishingly cheap light grey suit with his t-shirt peeking up the neck area of his tie-less dress shirt.
At most, in NYC people see what you wear through squinted eyes; as long as the suit is dark and the shirt pale, you are alright. Dress for the girl, no one else will care as much. Doesnt sound like youre too jazzy anyway and I dont know what jp means but the glen plaid is your best bet with a colorful tie.
I do. But it's too late. I was unsure about the gold, but it looks okay to my eye. I thought my reds looked too in your face. Now that I consider it, my pink repp would have been better. Everyone else's clothes look like the equivalent of a microwave meal. Nothing flashy, just cheap and boring.
