Perhaps some of our more prolific posters could lead us on an exploration of the superiority complex and its usefulness in attaining interweb celeb-dom .

Internet Gentlemen must also mention Mrs Internet Gentleman as much as possible. She should be mentioned in an offhand manner whenever possible, but for new grooms the new bride can be described in terms such as one would refer to acquiring a new chainsaw or lawnmower, without losing respect.

Do not be afraid of admitting you are p-whipped and cannot spend any amount of money, no matter how small, without Mrs Internet Gentleman's approval. It is also acceptable to admit that she is your final style arbiter and gets veto power over any purchases for personal use only. When your manhood is challenged, just virtually laugh and shrug your shoulders and remind yourself that your critics aren't getting any. Ignore the reality that after your first child, you won't be getting any either.

Don't be alarmed if other IGs offer congratulations on your recent nuptuals and/or make leering comments on the phyisical attractiveness of Mrs Internet Gentleman, whose photo you accidently-on-purpose posted in the fora.

Always compliment other IGs without appearing to curry too much favor. Address your fellow IGs as "sir" whenever possible.

Compliment other IGs on post count in particular, marking major "milestones" in a thread especially designated for that purpose. Lesser IGs may offer their congratulations to greater IGs on a certain post count before it is actually reached. Such behavior is to be seen as sporting rather than fawning.

When recognized by other IGs, it is proper to acknowledge such affirmations of your existence by mentioning how "honored and humbled" you are to have merited notice.
