Wear it in good health.
Great roll on the white BD too.

Re: Trad neckties

A fine old thread from seven years ago.

We don't use the term Trad anymore online unless we're a bit daffy. But there certainly are ties which have The Look: That old 'Ivy League' style look.

Is there an ultimate tie for The Look ?

I'm addicted to knits, but there are many, many other options.

What do you reckon ?

Cheers -

I am a Rooster fan...they seem very "boom" to me rather than conservative go-to elements, but I am no expert.

Re: Trad neckties

I've just bought, with the avowed intention of sprucing/poncing myself up a bit, in the hope some wretched female might glance in my direction, a Brooks Brothers Makers tie.
I should have known better.  Revisiting this thread makes me understand why.  The bugger is too wide.
Thank heaven I still have one, from 'Milton's Clothing Cupboard', that will do the Trad Trick.
I've always liked the sound of Milton.  Played to the hilt by Martin Balsam.
Oh, why did I do it?

Horace's wry observation on the Press salesman is worth reading.

Re: Trad neckties

I can’t remember what I wrote on that.

Hope i wasn’t too rough on the old chum.

There was a time for a while when Press quality took a dive in quality and thus in value. At least on a few things.  Like some of those padded shoulders on tweed jackets.   But that was a while ago.

But I’d say it’s made a come back.
