I don't see why football should be seen as any more 'beautiful' than any other mere game. Jimmy Carr (possibly the least funny comic in the whole history of tele), should be dust-binned. I saw an interview between an interviewer with Carr and Salma Hayek and Antonio Banderas - Hayek and Banderas distanced themselves as far as possible from Carr, limbs crossed away too; seldom looked at him; were heedless of his 'jokes' and plainly couldn't get away fast enough. The guy is too intense really to amuse anyone apart from his Mum and old Granny with his memorized 'wit'.
Watch the highlights of all the Premier games on Sundays. Fantastic skills on show. Over paid? Compared to shite film stars and pop stars? Nah, and who should have the money if not the players?
I think Dan must have been watching me play a few years back...

Perfectly true, Old Fruit. The trouble is that most people get to middle age before they truly realize the utter vanity and emptiness of the chase for material possessions -certainly those that comprise an excess to all reasonable requirements.
I don't discount it - fitball could go the way same way as the viability of the big bands.

Its not even that good, Dudley...Some years ago a guy I know/knew won 9.5 million on the lotto. He had a house built, bought a DB9, some soft top Jag and a hard top Jag. Went three ways on a restaurant with Steve Walsh and Julian Joachim (Leicester City players at the time) which he then sold his share in. Must have been 5 or 6 years after his win I bumped into him on Leicester Market, he was standing on a stall selling kids toys, when I asked why he said he was bored! He didn't have anything to get out of bed for. The bloke had worked all his life, market trader and then a van driver for Ginsters. Chased money all his life. I'd like to think I'd find enough to do with that kind of dosh. I do know I'd sure get bored with buying clothes and records after 12 months though.

...and I'd improve the contents of my gun cabinet; build and stock an orchid house; breed Arabian horses of the Hamadani family; grow an orchard of endangered English apple and pear trees; restore some old classic cars; have weekly, summer BBQs for friends and family and, probably, get pissed far too often - but only after sun-down. The future opens up before me and it looks bright - now all I need is the cash...It is, though, a tragedy that I could spend a bone-head celebrity's money far better than they so why do they get the money in the first place - it is beyond unfair - it is just absurd!!
I have never said anything about people on council estates - let alone run them down. Sports' stars have always been heroes - which is fine until they and their good ladies start sounding off ill-informed opinions and get turned into style icons. I think that the old Hollywood style icons were better. I also think that fictional heroes and heroines are the best of all.
Hollywood, isn't that the place where they let the servants run the roost?
