Re: Shoe-man ain't gonna like it!

problem with this idea, actually all MTM and bespoke, is that its only as good as the skill and experience of the people working there. as a rule I find shoe shops staffed by clueless individuals creating a high risk they'll misread your size and stick you into the wrong option. i go to C&J and even there where there is usually only one width, they often recommend the wrong size (9 instead of a 9.5). they are taught I think that the best option is the tightest shoe which you can actually get on .. not the most sophisticated approach. now you give an average shoe shop assistant a multitude of different options to play with and you are asking for trouble (not to mention you cant guide the process intelligently as you may not be familiar with their complex coding system).

Brooks Brothers tried something like this a few years ago for MTM suits. It was a flop.

Otter : Take it easy, I'm pre-law.
Boon : I thought you were pre-med.
Otter : What's the difference?

Re: Shoe-man ain't gonna like it!

implication is that this fool thinks bankers & hedge fund managers have refined tastes smile

most slaves working in financial services have no time to develop fine tastes these days unless they are right at the top of the ladder, even then most are not interested in such things, just look at the bank CEOs. Hedge fund managers live in their own bubble where they develop their own 'style', overwhelmingly the message they want to send to the world is 'hey, I can do what the hell I like as I'm my own boss!' .. resulting in open necked shirts with a suit, or jeans and a blazer ..all paired with some type of beaten up loafer.
