Yes, But What Should I Wear ?

http://www.bathballoons.co.uk/pages/venue-bath

Unless the weather is against us (Please G*d let it be!) I'm doing this this afternoon...

I'm thinking a lot of thick layers (surely it's cold up there?) and an interior layer of Vodka.

Anybody with any helpful knowledge of all this before I set off ?

Thank you -

I suggest you wear something that makes you resemble ballast.

Like the stuff they make sandbags out of.

Hessian, that's it.

Lets hope...

Re: Yes, But What Should I Wear ?

It's a nice puckish remark, but as payment is to be delivered after touch down (Is it called that?) they will sadly make me endure the whole ordeal.
At the moment they are ummmming and arrrrring about the weather...

I can think of nothing worse than champagne in this weather either.

I want something warming if I'm expected to go out today.

I'd wear a parachute.

Re: Yes, But What Should I Wear ?

It got postponed in the end - Hurrah !

A kind person sent me this -

You should wear clothing suitable for a country walk appropriate to the time of year, preferably of natural fibres. A hat or cap may be useful to protect your head from the heat of the burners. Ladies please wear trousers. Sensible walking shoes or boots are recommended, preferably ones that are waterproof, Most flights take off from, and land in, a field. Remember the grass may be damp, and you may encounter the odd cowpat. Stiletto heels or sandals should be avoided. Space is restricted in the basket, so please avoid bringing large rucksacks and bags.

And this -

We recommend clothes suitable for a walk in the country depending on the time of year and on the specific day you are flying. Generally warm, comfortable layers are a good idea, plus a cap or other hat for the warmth from the burners. Depending on conditions, you may be walking in wet, muddy fields so sensible shoes or trainers are essential.
Usually passengers are asked to help with the inflation and deflation of the balloon which most people really enjoy. This is much appreciated because it helps to make the process much quicker for everyone. So we also recommend you wear clothes which you don't mind getting a little dirty. No designer wear, flip-flops or high heels please as we are unable to accept responsibility for any damage to clothing and anyone who is dressed inappropriately may not be allowed to fly.

... It makes it all sound even more awful...

Do they still charge in guineas for balloon flights?
