Edward Green trunk show 23rd - 24th Melbourne, Australia (Double Monk)

Will be calling by to check out the ranges. This is the first time E.G have held a trunk show in Oz.

Would have liked to have ordered a top draw pair, but with the future Cleverley alligator shoe in the works and some Mr J.H bespokes (possibly another alligator/croc) l will reluctantly have to opt out of this one. Looking forward to seeing the top draw, but alittle too expensive for rtw goodyear welted for me. Might get a regular Edward Green shoe, but we'll see.

Shoes: $2195 inc-GST
Shoes (Hand Sewn Upper Models): $2395 inc-GST
Boots: $2595 inc-GST

The more I look at black shoes, the more I wish I had more pairs. Tempted to break out my 'special occasion' black pairs for every day duty.

Oh my lord. Those Balmoral half brogues!!! Thanks Shooey for posting up. Out of my price range but great to see. Do you have any idea of the prices in their factory shop?

Shooey the first black captoes look awesome.

The leather looks outstanding. It looks like Ilcea's Oxford. Do you know if this is the case?

Not overly fond of that faux antiquing on the toes of the browns. Not as subtle as I recall EG  doing that job in the past. Just the pics maybe?

Re: Edward Green trunk show 23rd - 24th Melbourne, Australia (Double Monk)

l like the dark blotches on the toes, Santoni now does it with some of there shoes too.

Truthfully...l can't pay that much for goodyear. Much better to put that money towards bespokes with a sound construction. For the next Cleverley order l might get a black balmoral chisel captoe (like the E.G in the first pic) or a burgundy alligator shoe, we'll see. l'd feel much better if l did it that way instead of goodyear. Get one bespoke per year for five years and retire as a grand shooman.

Might just get a John Lobb special order for a white and navy blue spectator wingtip one day and get a few more Vass, and hopefully Isshy can help me get some more Santoni norvegese and bentivegna constructed handmades and some Mr J.H bespokes and that's it! l am not going to be like Meister and buy one pair a week, l am gonna call it quits and retire. wink
