There is too much fuss over jeans. Bean do a good cheap pair with vague 'Ivy' credentials. I'm getting too old to be wearing blue denim anyway.

Got a pair of Levis LVC 1967, on sale. I have to say that I'm extremely pleased with the fit and fabric. These are the first jeans that actually remind me of how Levi's use to feel and fit. Will probably talk the bearded, gun loving hipsters that run our local goods shop into giving me a second discount for another pair of 1967's, they are really excellent. Much cooler than the 1947's.

A true sixties cut but as always with jeans your results may vary.

I will also return the bedfords as I feel a bit too old for the trim style. But anyone looking for a beach boys 1966 era pants should give the bedfords a glance. IMO they are suited to be worn with untucked shirts as day pants around the beach or other sunny locales. The bedfords are not city pants.

Senor, I would also consider the 501z '54 if you prefer a more tapered fit. I have the 67's and the 54's and I reckon the rise is similar.

For those curious as to how Wranglers fit?

Thank you - I will try those 54's as well today - Ive always been exceptic regarding LVC's but I can now see what the fuzz is all about. Certainly not worth it at full price but considering the amount of time I spend wearing jeans they are quite a bargain. The 67's are really wonderful and their surf style t-shirts seem quite cool as well.
The trick is to wait for the end of season sales and also to have a place were you can try them on in person.

at full price they run for about $220- which is completely absurd and moronic. They do go on sale - usually at around this time - for about 50% to 70% off. The only thing is they do go quick as all the denim guys are looking to get them on sale. Places that I recommend to find them on sale: Jcrew, Unionmade and the LVC thread over at style forum will have someone posting the places that have them on sale.

I really think you would dig them the most as they have the old feel that denim used to have and the models have really cool cuts. If Sid Mashburn has some of then I recommend you try some there just to see if you like the models and style. My advise is to try the 1947, the 1954 and the 1967's. Those seem to be the ones with a nice taper and classic stylings.

The 1967 LVC's are much better constructed. Feel very solid and the indigo is truly classic the fit is roomy in the waist and then tapers from the knee down. The thighs are cut generously.
My $25 wrangler's were a bit warped around the zipper area. Their shape was good and looked cool and are a true bargain.

I just really wanted some made in the USA denim fabric and I have always been a Levi's guy so the 67 Levi's are a classic choice over the more 'let's rodeo' wranglers...

I also noticed that my closet was full of cheap jeans that I was never fully happy about, so after trying this jeans, getting them on sale and thinking about it for about five years it was time to get the jeans I wanted.

I will be donating my older jeans, I've really become a fan of the LVC's.

My last pair of LVC were the 47s. The left leg seam twisted a little after washing, too bad I bought the things in London, otherwise I'd have taken them back.

LVC aren't great quality IMO. Never pay full price for them as they're on sale every year. I've had a few pairs of the 167 505s now, they always blow out in the crotch eventually but they are a great cut.
