The Style of Charles Saatchi

Apparently, he as 12 identical Paul Smith suits and 25 T&A white shirts to Ensure he has the same silhouette and look everyday:

Someone who shares the exact same style as Saatchi is David Lynch.

He needs to read Permanent Style everyday over the burnt toast to become a true obsessive...

Cheapskate - £100m+ and he buys RTW suits and shoes? Mind you, maybe he just realizes that he'd be wasting his money on anything else. Let's hope that Nigella gets a nice piece of wedge out of the divorce.

Re: The Style of Charles Saatchi

Actually - I am thinking about a plan....ordering 25 white T&A shits and 10 navy blue suits (probably not Paul Smith, maybe Cordings or similar style).

10 pairs of C&J Connaught

20 red hermes ties
20 mid blue Charvet ties

DONE

Re: The Style of Charles Saatchi

why would you need 20 of the same tie .. surely they don't need rotation? one blue should suffice for your requirements.

also why would you go to Cordings for suits? Fused, 3 button jobbies .. although relatively inexpensive I suppose.

Re: The Style of Charles Saatchi

paul smith suits are without a doubt shoddy .. foreign made, semi canvassed, badly cut, the whole gambit .. I think its plain the guy doesn't care too much about sartorial matters, especially since he is happy to splash enormous sums on all sorts of ridiculous things, most apparent in his propping up the whole post modern art market, of which 99% is without doubt utter shit.

Re: The Style of Charles Saatchi

Paul Smith, Hackett, Duchamp et al are all trying to sell the 'English Gent' look to the unwashed masses ...

Thing is it just channels the look .. the basic form of their clothing and the make is the same as all the other tat sold across the high street ..

I would go further and say that PS stuff is overwhelmingly crap, and has been for decades, if not all time.

/\ Nah, they used to have some perfectly fine socks, belts, scarves, sweaters, and shoes, all made in England and Scotland ... that stuff was fine ... haven't seen any of it for many years but the stuff I'm talking about was genuine goods ... there was always a predilection for flash but occasionally there were really solid items ....

Re: The Style of Charles Saatchi

1) well actually you said '20 mid blue Charvet ties' without stipulating anything about pattern, which logically infers that they are all plain, you puerile intellectually challenged twit.

2) I only wear bespoke suits but there are a plethora of suit options in RTW which are superior to cordings, I would say even M&S Autograph, Italian ranges produce an equally good and perhaps better semi fused suit than cordings & at a cheaper price.

plummy

Re: The Style of Charles Saatchi

Saatchi's obsessive behaviour is something he can discuss with his therapist but millions of humans have a similar disposition.

What I find amazing is eating burnt toast. I am surprised he had not already got/dies of stomach cancer. Not a great idea eating lots of burnt carbon.

The other thing is the almost Iranian cleric/Rafsanjani look he sports.

I thought the best decision the Saatchi Bros made was to quit the Middle East...not revisit its style!
