I'm quite taken with the idea of doing this. A nice Dandy touch?

Re: Bespoke Umbrellas

To throw this open to the forum what would your bespoke umbrella be? Harris Tweed with a Briar handle for the Trads? It could be done with a Gore-Tex liner. Blacker than black midnight blue silk with an ebony handle for the Dandies? Softly faded Madras with a drift wood handle for rainy Preppy days on the Cape? The possibilties are endless. What would your umbrella be?

I'm going dark bottle green treated cotton canvas (fisherman style) and a solid stem crooked handle in a large "Golf" umbrella style. I'm comparing woods as we speak. I want something with a good grain. And you?

Diamond handle, marble-inlaid ivory shaft and the fabric woven from 24 karat gold threads with silk patterns.

Hmmm... an interest in trad, half a dozen threads started, two responses to your own thread before anyone else responds... good to see you, Squire.

I've actually just decided to order my first Brigg.  I'm thinking mid-grey instead of the ubiquitous black.  I had considered sky blue or yellow to counter the dismal-ness of rainy weather but opted for something more versatile.

Re: Bespoke Umbrellas

Got myself a pair of Smith umbrellas. They had me choose the sticks ifrom a large selecetion of wood. I then was asked to stand leaning on them naturally to cut them down to proper size. I then selected silks and they made them up for me.
