The UN and various groups of progressives are working to ensure criticism of religion becames blasphemy with laws enshrined at the local and international level, thus, ensuring all debate is stifled and the hate preachers of all denominations can spew their vile texts with impunity. We will end up in the situation, common on university campus's in the UK, where the well funded religious supremisits groups can operate above criticism with the establishment rolling over to placate their demands for further sucre and power.
As Michael Palin said in his recent interview, he doesn't joke about Islam as heavily armed people will come to kill you.
You can see my other post Hank on the open debate thread if you're unsure of the stance here. First off why is a clothing forum having to even set guidelines on racism? It is a sad state of affairs if people aren't mature enough to cope with the freedom to discuss these issues. Im pretty sure I could engage in difficult discussions on relgious matters, and be critical without appearing racist. If people wish to do that that is fine, but like I said we will not give the freedom for people to be racist. If anyone really has a problem with that they can leave.
Humour is a side issue it is typically obvious when a comment is ment in jest. If a comment does cause offence even if it is meant to be funny then please report as normal and the mod team will decide how to go about dealing with it.
I can't be clearer than that. You're all responsible for what you write, maybe consider how you word things when dealing with difficult issues.
Don't suggest your freedom to be critical is under threat it is not.
Like I said if you cant pick the right language and the tone it's your own fault. I've been labelled racist by people especially when I talk about my opinions on economic migration. I am not a racist I hate the fact politicians and media stifle intelligent debate in this way. Like I said if your views are racist, don't expect them to remain on here. Anything clealry testing this policy will be deleted. Also to further add if you really do want to have these debates im sure you'll get more attention on other forums.
Antisemitism has nothing to do with Semitic languages. Nothing at all. Antisemitism is a pathic projection. It is not about Jews. It is all about the psychological condition of the Antisemite.
Well look just how upset I get about the lapels on a Keydge. It's virtually a subtext to my hate of the French.
This debate is making me realize I'm very anti-semantics.

^Very perceptive and I agree.
Russ - I will take up your points later today, after I have done my chores. We are debating not throwing around insults so why not continue this in this thread? In fact, arguing about something like this might even do some good.

Dudley, and forum, apologies for my tendentious rant, to Bop too, nothing personal, all about the subject, sorry, if that sounded like a dig at you! Dud, my kindergarten remark was a cheap retort on your request to do my homework and not meant as an insult.
Sammy, re: Paul and religion and psychology in general I'd probably refer to Theodor Reik: Der eigene und der fremde Gott. I'm not sure, though, if there is a translation, but there will certainly be translations for Sigmund Freud, Totem und Tabu as well as for Der Mann Moses und die monotheistische Religion. The early Christians' projections about Jews were all about the self hatred and affects of newly converted pagans against their own new religion. Freud being Freud, the castration complex is also key. Freud, off course, was strongly opposed to circumcision.
Re: Chomsky, Butler or Finkelstein I just think that they are routinely used as strawmen. Being Jewish does not make them immune against antisemitism. As I said, it is resentment and projection. One can only talk about Antisemitism. It's impossible to argue with an antisemite, because as soon as a person understood what antisemitism is, they could not longer be an antisemite.
Antisemitism is flexible, it does not need the religion Judaism or a Jewish people, Semitic language or a Semitic race, Antisemitism doesn't even need Jews. The 99% of OWS argue in a structurally antisemitic way, as do many conspiracy crackpots...
The politics of paranoia!
Now, how do we close that can of worms again?
Russ - no need at all to apologize to me. Maybe the opened can should be binned...
