Gemming Failure Spotted

Shooey:

What causes this type of problem?

http://www.styleforum.net/t/85589/the-official-alden-thread/70425

seems to be a rare occurrence, I have never experienced it but Alden should definitely fix this... But I also wonder about the boot's owner, could he be doing something to cause this issue? I have many Alden boots - some 15 years old - and never seen anything like this...

It could also be just the seams... and the owner just said that it's happen twice in the same foot and he was sent a new pair... I know of people who damage their boot heels by holding the one heel with their other boot while taking their boots off... this could explain some of the issues..

Re: Gemming Failure Spotted

It is an inseaming problem, and l assume the machine operator would be at fault and not the machinery. Why? Because many shoes are inseamed well by machines while others are very poorly done. These factory workers need to take more care, but they do so many shoes that standards drop. What are the quality control people doing....asleep at the wheel. Butts need to be kicked good and proper so blokes are made to do quality work.

My oldest pair of Indys is 15 years old with one resoling and no failures... Never had a problem with Aldens but ai also kmow they been working at full capacity since the style crowd got to them.

The family refuses to expands - which is the right decision - as the trendies are already moving on. They should replace that boot no questions asked.
