therefore by definition you are studying a dying breed of rock star .. aged individuals in their 60s and 70s, who are struggling to hold the attention of the public, lost as they have strayed into the trappings of fabulous wealth after coming out of humble working class backgrounds. They don't know who they are themselves, the drug and alcohol misuse only makes matters worse.

Perhaps, one of the most intriguing elements of rock, was to turn a professional stage craft, combining musicianship with showmanship, into something that the audience could believe was the actual 24/7 existence of the musicians i.e. the rock 'n'roll lifestyle of sex, drugs and excess.
Must be crushed velvet to be R n R
Now there's a gent who's grown old with solid authority.
Yeah. He looks great. Thanks for the technical details (and snide drummer comment) FXH.
He looks as though he is trying too hard and all those stripes in suit, shirt and tie plus a collar bar - no sprezz at all.

I don't think he looks like he's trying to hard on the photo getting off the plane in Perth.
Charlie's got it made, a day job that is three months of the year with The Stones, the rest of year on a jazz kick and doing what you want. Not bad.
The photos from the 70s look terrible, what a cursed decade, unless you were Roger Moore as Bond.
