Excellent point about best. It's completely subjective.
As someone who likes most of the properties of mohair, it's important to understand that the finest mohair is not very fine compared to say fine wool. I believe some of the finest mohair is barely 19 microns, which is only super 90 in wool. Far from silky soft. Mohair is the only rough luxury fiber. However all it's other properties more than makeup for this. Particular important is that mohair is very robust and wrinkle resistant. The sheen of mohair although very nice, can be easily matched by very fine wool weaving techniques and surpassed by the addition of silk. Recently I had a look at Zegna's 14 milmil 14 (100% s190 and reasonably priced) and holy is that suiting decadent with a wonderful sheen. Ofcourse none of these can compete in robustness to mohair. In fact mohair would make great work horse suits.

Irish brand, ok quality, well known for their tweeds, which they weave in-house.
I've got a Donegal jacket magee. English cut, v long vents. I never wear it because it is terribly hot. Only suitable for outside on a very cold day.
I should sell it to you.

think they have that one & others similar to it in the A&S haberdashery .. look terribly slouchy yet refined. got to give it to A&S that they know how to choose cloth & create interesting statement pieces.
yes, I've never been attracted to a black and white houndstooth pattern, although I like blue or brown houndstooth cloths.
G&H RTW is under a new design director who seems to be creating a flamboyant style for the brand. Quality of G&H hasn't been there for me in the past although I can understand what they have tried to do with prices in attempting to make their clothing accessible for the majority.
