About radicals returning from Syria to wage jihad in Western Europe:

Who'd have guessed that this would be a game changer?
I think certain people guessed it several months ago and as you say those at the top are just waking up to it.
What's the betting that the Western powers decide that President Assad is actually quite a decent type and start supporting his regime as the lesser of two evils?
What I don't understand is why the US support Al qaeda in Libya and Syria. Yet are obviously at war with them in other countries. It seems they're more bothered with the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan than the actual people who committed the 9/11 atrocities
Meanwhile, in the propaganda war against Assad, we are meant to buy into this little ditty, Assad has secretly been funding AQ:

You couldn't make it up! Well you could!
The 'Opposition' in Libya comprises of over 40 disparate groups, many of which are only interested in controlling small areas of the country. These come together in alliance, get into disputes and spend much of the time fighting each other, a landscape that is ripe for exploitation by AQ type extremist groups.

Nothing to do with the £8,500 'bounty' on offer then?
Events have moved on from the relevance of Blair. The terrorists were seeded in the UK and are a natural development to the indoctrination and culture being ingrained in these groups. The antics of the idiot son of a successful US president and the rapturous Blair only accelerated the process.
Now we have the propoganda being espoused in The Telegraph yesterday, that Assad has been secretly funding AQ and more spin today, about how we have continued along with our backers in Qatar and KSA, of supporting the more moderate Islamists, etc. And yet another dodgy dossier has now shown up, funded by the Qataris, at least Blair had his dodgy dossier in place before the war.
Blair is last year's model, it is the gay goblin and his cronies up to mischief now, these are just as bad, if not worse.

Tim Horton's is terrible. And if you denigrate America, you have to include Canada, to all Canadians chagrin. It's another America, just with longer lines for the doctor (but the doctors cheap, which is a plus).
Thanks, Sammy. A compliment indeed! I have been writing a novel for decades. In fact, I have been writing it for so long that I started it on a sit-up-and-beg Remington type-writer and it is set in 1965 - still that lets in Alvis TD21 Drophead Coupes and MPW Silver Cloud III four door Continentals as well as an exchanges of fire involving a Navy Colt revolver and a decent shotgun. However, it does includes my ideas for setting the world to rights as well as some of my pop-philosophy Har Har Har - and I'll let you know when I push it out into the world. It might be through Trethosa Parc Publishing or somewhere mainstream - the trouble with mainstream publishing for my books is that the material just isn't populist enough. London suburbanites don't want even to think of going to live in the sun, anymore than they care when the great hatter Lincoln Bennett closed his doors, or why Flying Spurs were only ever Bentleys and not the RR equivalent. A Brazilian friend who lives on a mountain across town once said that she enjoyed one of my books but thought that I'd sell better if I wrote something stupid! She was quite serious and, undoubtedly, right.
So far as coffee goes - I remember that awful freeze-dried stuff that was everywhere in the England of my youth.
