Re: Analogue Vs Digital

^ I didn't compare Pro-Tools to Garageband, I actually pointed out a significant difference between the two types of software.
But if you do want to compare them, they are both linear DAWs, using a  'roll-across' timeline and a GUI that mimics the functions of an analog recording equipment, so they are not that different on the surface.
What is markedly different are the algorithms that support the front-end, Pro-Tools has a 'real time-base' using an internal digital clock to time-stamp the recording and its position in the session.
Garageband however uses the 'bar markers' as it's timing base and keeps the audio locked to this allowing you to speed up and slow down the track with the audio stretches with it.

Re: Analogue Vs Digital

Formby you've clearly lost the plot Acton is being far too modest here. He has worked with many of the world's most famous musicans

Re: Analogue Vs Digital

The above statement is one that suggests you don't understand what you're talking about protools is far too technical for someone to pick up and play. Cubase could even been seen as advanced to kids that would actually be using something like fruity loops. Which is as close to pick up and play as you can get. Or ableton or reason.
