Yes, very 80ies...but also very timeless. I believe there is a small group of men - in their early fifties - who still dress like that. Predominantly lawyers, but also Big 4 partners, old-school industrialists and the like.

Sounds very "trading places". I quite like the idea of charcoal chalkstripe three piece, pink shirt and burgundy tie with white silk handkerchief. Gold fob chain in lapel optional.
