Anyone watching this new comedy on HBO? It's cracking me up.
It concerns two hapless folk musicians from New Zealand. The shorter, bearded one wears standard slacker tees and jeans, but the taller, bespectacled one has, in my opinion, great style.
It's like he's distilled the best of the seventies--lots of casual safari-sh jackets with epaulets and twin breast pockets, denim workshirts with corduroy sportcoats, that sort of thing. No flares or giant collars or wild prints--it convinces me that there is a very cool seventies aesthetic, albeit with judicious culling.
It's not totally original, but I think he looks great and wonder if I can incorporate some of that approach into my thing.
The last episode featured a Scopitone parody, in which he looked fantastic in white pants, pink shirt, and green tie. Very Johnny Halliday (sp?).
I found the Nude Rude song very amusing.
Thought we were talking about an easy on the eyes acapella group at my alma mater for a moment.
The show is good, but nothing can compete with the live show the had on HBO to promote the coming series.
