Kumbaya

I know I'm going to be in the minority here, but I just wanted to say that I think this forum has really declined in quality.  I love it when moderators like Armchaired threaten to ban me because I take an occasional 'swipe' at Oliver.  He needs to be protected, I guess; can't have anyone saying anything that isn't peace, love, and happiness.  I preferred it when Soggs could threaten to cut people's fingers off, or worse.  Not terribly pleasant, granted, but at least he was allowed to speak his mind, to a degree.  I love it when the same people talk about the same things ad nauseam, like where the perfect pair of chinos can be found.  Big ups to Stanshall, Zach, Farrago, Andy B, Yuca, and a few others.

Re: Kumbaya

Is Andy B back posting? He hasn't posted to my knowledge for quite some time.

To be fair to the Moderators, they walk a difficult line and perform an uneviable task IMCO. There will always be examples of comments that are deleted that may seem innocuous to the poster. From what I have seen, all forums require moderation and I was very dissapointed on a jazz forum recently that the moderators stepped-in and stifled the discussion on Amiri Baraki just when it was getting interesting. So I agree that some thought provoking agitation and contrary positions are necessary to keep a forum healthy, but I also see that there is an ebb and tied to postings, sometimes the forums languishes in the doldrums before there is sea swell and a wind that carries the posting forward.

I've had very few postings deleted, so I personally have nothing to complain about.

I wish Soggs would drop in.  Anyone heard from him?  He kept people honest.

Re: Kumbaya

Andy's not posted for some time.  We've exchanged some emails, though.
To clarify, I've never had anything deleted here.  Actually, now that I think about it, I believe Armchaired deleted one post of mine (my first warning).  He seems to think Oliver is not deserving or capable of handling criticisms.  I think there's more enthusiasm than brains around here at times.

Re: Kumbaya

Marlowe if you think participation in a forum is just to post links to rap videos implying Oli is a fake or making remarks about his disposable income#or calling him a "herb" whatever that means?
Then i think the one with the brain problem is you.

Criticism can be healthy and that's fine but if its all you ever do and its directed
at just one person then its not good.

As i said the forum is about participation ,contribute.

Just give the guy a break.

The mods aren't trying to crack down on negative or critical remarks toward members.  I think anyone should feel free to be critical of anyone else on here.  We can all be adults.  Except YoungIvy.  He's like 14 right?

Re: Kumbaya

Ok, although I don't think it's a stretch to say your concerns re: pre-forum seem to be slightly paranoid and reactionary.  I mean, really.  We all know stranger things have probably happened, but again, really?  However, at the end of the day, in today's world, fair enough.  I was around here before Oliver came along and racked up a million posts, many of which are completely redundant. Who's obsessed?
I think you'll find that many of the better contributors here never or rarely post photos of themselves.  I'm quite handsome, though, really.

Re: Kumbaya

Marlowe, you're an attention seeking loser hiding behind your anonymity. I have nothing to disguise from you or anyone else here. I'm a straight shooter and have PM'd you directly (for the sake of the forum and your tiresome attempts to stir up some internet feud which I have zero interest in engaging) yet you play the duck and chose not to respond or lay it out plainspoken. I can't speak for AC or any of the other moderators; I hate to bruise your ego but I've never once contacted anyone about you because frankly, you don't even register. If other people take issue with your boring insipidity on this forum, that's their angle and while I'm compelled to agree with those sentiments, I really couldn't give a toss about what you post or what you think of me. I think you're a boring drip and if this thread proves anything, it's just what a delicate sanctimonious poser you are. If this place is such a nowhere drag, put an egg on your shoe dope.
