Anyway I'm back from holidays.
Its fascinating news to read that in the whole of USA - some 315 million population - there is only one person / business/cobblers who can resole a shoe.
Here in faraway Oz with a population of only 22 million (plus poisonous spiders, snakes, sharks, dangerous Australian women and kangaroos), within 2 suburbs of me there are 3 people who can resole a shoes with a GY machine or by hand if you pay for it.

The extant Gilgamesh2003's favored poster, Shaver, has a thread asking to list "your favourite current modern dandy." A rapper gets the most nods, but many nominations are for dead people. This definitely supports Buffy's stance on the stagnancy of certain people's style. Most stunningly, more than one person is under the notion that children's show host Mr. Rogers was somehow a dandy.
