Good on him. Taking a big risk. But like many aussie makers, he can't last or block a shoe properly. None-the-less, he is doing the best he can with the skills he has learned. I wish him really well.

The shoe fits, but what about quality? (Nice article for aussie shoomen):

Have you seen any Brian Lester shoes?
He's out somewhere in Preston isn't he?

I will pay him a visit soon and organise some time for a good chat. If he is interested l will see if he wants to see my shoemaker John to learn how to `block' and `last' better. That old skill is lost in Melbourne. Even Alex at Manhatten Shoes might be able to teach him some tips, Alex is highly skilled also.

Each page has 15 posts on my settings, so hopefully these links come to the right pages for other people.

The old Carlton maker at Invicta. He was a good maker too, but retired about 3 years ago.

John's shoes (the best of the lot)

Jess Wooten shoes (ex Doc Cobbler), + his dad's handwelted boots. His dad worked with the legendary Geoge Koleff:

Also Alex on this page. Very skilled with everything, also handwelted over 300 shoes in Russia.
