Cuffs or no cuffs? re Andy Trad thread

There is quite a heated debate going over on Andy Trad at the moment, which is debating the merits of cuffs on trouser/pants.
I thought it might be an idea to open it up to the floor here as Billax seems to be the only one i see regularly post pics with
cuffs on his strides, It clearly does not seem to be popular with you cats. I must admit its never been my bag but there is no denying the man (Billax) looks good.

By chance i selected a recently purchased pair of Charcoal leesures today that are cuffed and even though i have never appreciated
casual trousers with cuff's ,i quite liked it.

Infarct i would go as far to say that when i eventually find someone i can trust to hem my new O'Connell's , i think. i will ask for" Cuff, no break".

Zach also usually has cuffs.

Another cuffs thread? Jesus. They have to be like 50% of the posts on AAAAC and the Haberdashery of B&B. It's insane.

I have cuffs on quite a few of my trousers.

Oh yeah, and my suits have cuffed trousers, my casual pants mostly do not.

In fact the ones that don't have cuffs are where there hasn't been enough fabric to do so. I always wear jeans with a turn up too, many I have a problem hmm

Cuffs really help the no break hang right. Look at those Leesures I posted that were let down..they really look shit and flappy without the cuff. But im talking about a specific look. I dont think all trousers need cuffs. But the style i like do/does?

Re: Cuffs or no cuffs? re Andy Trad thread

Cuffs for me on only proper trousers/chinos I've bought in recent years that are unfinished...
Majority of LVC non jeans I pick up all cuffed too....
Most on here favour slim jims on the stride front so can see that cuffs not favoured by you...

I've been contemplating getting some strides made for a while tbh - as I'm just always in jeans really...can anyone recommend anyone in town?
Bop's pic yesterday stoked the fire again... would love a nice check pair...
I'd want sussies on em and probably a fishtail back mind but then of course I'm a complete and utter wanker....

^ el capitan,
Aero leathers do a pair that might be up your street.

But if you want to go tailor-made I've heard nothing but good things about Dave Wax in Hammersmith, particularly for vintage styles (he does a load of repro work for films and tv).

The extra weight of cuffs help smart trousers to hang better. If trousers are such that I would put a crease in them then I have cuffs.

I always wear trousers with cuffs when I visit the library.

Re: Cuffs or no cuffs? re Andy Trad thread

all my suits are cuffed, as well as most khakis and even cords and other casual pants with slash or on-seam pockets, but not on my jeans or five-pocket cords.

cuffs are key to our old wobbly style from school and college .... which I still wear .....

for the sake of practicality also, we had cuffs on our khakis to accommodate growth ... as the kid gets taller, the pants have some material to let down ..... also the cotton khakis sometimes would shrink and then you could salvage them if they were cuffed .... otherwise they'd be made into Bermudas ....

also, our old heavy Bean woodsman winter pants would not get cuffed because the fabric was too thick ....

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't and yet the world keeps spinning on its axis.

In all seriousness, I cuff a lot of stuff and by and large I like the look. But I also like to have cuff-less trousers.

Cuffs don't work as much on the west coast, I feel stuffy and out-of place with cuffs in L.A. or in the tropics.

On the east coast, especially in the north, cuffs seem to be the completely acceptable or de rigueur, as French mofos like to say.

Do you guys vacuum out all the debris that collects down there?  Cuffs are definitely a handy place to quickly hide and transport your joints.
