Yeah, the Levi's are my bet as well.  What are the best internet sources to get these things?

edit:  from what I've seen, I like the 501 cut -- esp. the 1947 and 1955 models.

Horace and anyone looking for Levi's 501,

I ordered a pair from the gents at the link below (the store came up earlier in this thread.)  I'm far from a connoisseur but I really like these.  The denim is light years better than mall Levi's and the fit is nice and neat but not too tight.  They are 65.00 UK, so not terribley high-priced either.  They stock them in 38 and 36 waist (pre-shrinkage), and the store can usually track something down for you if it is out of stock.  The store is in Manchester, UK (I'm in the US) and the people are really cool and helpful every time I order.  Funny you have to have to get regular ole Levi's from England over the internet.

having a 30-32" waist for jeans is probably considered ideal since your waist/inseam ratio is a huge factor in determining how aesthetically "good" a pair of jeans looks, esp if you're into skinny leg cuts
