I agree that LGBT causes and rights are often marched out as examples of how progressive we are compared with Russia or whoever. When really, we all know that these are mere baubles, whilst the real game of gauging out of the moral backbone that holds and defines us culturally and socially, continues.

Tatchell is rather quiet these days, at least in the media. He was very prominent when he was on a mission to oust closet homosexuals back in the late 80s and early 90s, as I remember. In any event, he was described as a Islamophobe by Ken Livingstone, which says more about Red Ken than Tatchell.
