Interested Observer,

are you mainly a bespoke man, what do you wear, or do you make them yourself?

I found this funny John Lobb video (new video). Made me laugh. Check it out from 1:05 - 1:30. wink
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfOxIKoGQsc

I remember me and my maker John tried to remove my shoe off the last and we strained so hard that we were both ready for bed after 15 minutes. We thought we might have ended up being thrown through the shed wall because the strain was momumental.

Not taking much break in at all. Went for a 2 km walk last night and they felt really good. A nice snug fit...most snug fit of all my shoes, but not too tight, just right. I like these very much. Didn't think l had the feet to wear such shoes, but l was wrong. It's a slightly longer shoe with a very slim profile...is taking some getting used to seeing it on my feet, the shoe looks so small, just like bespoke... looks small and elegant.

Some of those slim lasts can be extremely comfortable, the Tim Little TL14 being a fine example too.

I know it is bad form to criticize whatever someone posts here but I have to say it - whoever made these shoes, the extremely square toebox looks....common.

Why havent you gone for something more timeless?

I LOVE , this foum

It depends very much on the pants you are wearing, I am pretty much sure everyone has put on a pair of baggy chinos only to find the narrow gibson shoe they've chosen is swamped with the billowy-ness of the pants. So I am not convinced it is about the size of the person, the choice of trousers/chinos/jeans is everything.

I dont really agree with that either. On larger men thinner belts, dainty shooes and slimmer(but not tight) cuts actually help. Imo Small chaps should go the other way.

Re: My new Anthony Cleverley oxford captoes (for old Formby)

Yeah but Mafoo wears skin tight suits.

If a fat guy wears a big extra cut suit and massive gunboats do you think he will look smaller or bigger?

If a small guy wears a closely cut suit and dainty shoes what do you think the outcome of that is? He is gonna look more petite

Anyone wearing baggy suit with tiny shoes is going to look ridiculous just as Mafoo does by doing the opposite.
