KenCPollock-I am being run off Style Forum

As you have probably noticed, I am being torn to shreds because of my threads like "Cap in a fine restaurant," "US waiters' biggest mistakes," "Still workin on that-asked at a Ritz Carlton," and my Diners' Bill of Rights, etc. Even Manton, who autographed a copy of his book for me, has devastated me. It was so bad they made him censor and delete some of his own post.
I still get at little respect at AA Trad when I limit myself to clothing or shoes, but I am still black and blue over what happened at SF Social Life.
I may have to join "you guys" permanently, but I wish you would let my French friend E*****t (banned) back on and talk about restaurant food and service some. It would also be nice if Fabienne posted here, as I am a secret admirer.

Jesus, some of you guys really do spend your entire lives on message boards.

Start your own message board and compete with them. Stars rise and fall, you know.

I find it hard to believe that Ken would be under fire, anywhere.
Is this another joke, I have missed?

Seems to me you never really found a home over at SF anyway.

l'm glad you're back Mr Pollock. Actually....l was only thinking of you yesterday (reading a hard copy of your shoo ranking and a copy of your shoo collection); l was wondering how many more shoos yoo have purchased since you last posted your collection (18 months ago); you did have 220 pairs...got any more since then? l was only going through your collection last night; l may scan it and post it here for old time sake.

Don't sweat it Mr Pollock. lf any drongo comes into a restaurant with a baseball cap or sneakers, just go to the manager and ask for these plebs to be thown out. Never change Mr Pollock, keep on being the amazing legend that you are.

Regards sir: your Shooman

Mr Pollock:

how do you compare the construction of Church's to C&J Handgrade?

Mr. Pollock, you are a heroic figure to many of us in the forum culture. I think your detractors are primarily motivated by envy--envy for your wardrobe and envy that you are the refined gentleman that you are. I feel something of the same envy, but I transmute it to admiration, not odium.

Mr.Pollock,

I am a fan of your decorum posts as I often do feel that numerous establishments tend to cater for a low--or middle--denominator.

Mr. Pollock,

Your post on natural shoulder clothing is a must-read, particularly as it conforms to my own recollections. This would be a good place to land. I also got tired of all the tensions on the other fora, primarily because the wars are so time-consuming.

Regards,

Steven

Gosh KenPo, if that is U,  I only lasted 2 hours @ Sty Fori on April Fools day this year and I'm one righteous dude. There was nothing offensive in me posts, either.  I think some of the more "distinguished" interweb gentlemen (JLib me suspects) wanted to nip ol' Howey in the bud and keep the cyber discussion @ SF's typically sophisticated, Oxford Union type ya know.  Motor on up to Dawsonville Pool Room www.dawsonvillepoolroom.com  and drown your sorrows in a cheeseburger & Pabst, enjoy a game of pool and pick up a camo DPR trucker cap. That's epicurean dinin' and real club camaraderie amongst GA squires. Earlene'll wait on ya right quick, too. She'll call ya "Honey" and that'll make you feel better. Bring the Mrs. and young-uns, it's a family place. Bonus: DPR members got reciprocal privileges at White's, Brook's & Boodle's when in Ol' Foggy. SF's fulla perverts anyways. You don't need those sniveling b@$+@r|)$ anyways.  Ya'll gotta Pathmark in Alphaville? (Pssst! Some of the folk's here automatically classify you as a "cracker", bein's how you frum GA. No excuses, no exceptions, not even yer Quaker associations mitigates.)

I have one pair of Church's post-Prada.  The construction seems to me to be very solid.  Bookbinder leather.  Doesn't bother me either.  I'm not sure what model, maybe the Anglesey.  A plain blucher.

Re: KenCPollock-I am being run off Style Forum

Actually, I have not been banned from SF, just ridiculed and threatened with great bodily harm if I criticise service in most USA chain restaurants again.
I am really puzzled by this. I have learned a lot about clothing and shoes from the fora; I never ceased to be amazed by the amount of highly accurate knowledge that many members have.
But on the other hand, I find the level of many members' ignorance about what is correct restaurant service to be equally astonishing. One does not have to go to 1890s Austria to find the type of genuine and properly reserved service that I would like to have, instead of pushy, trendy, hyped "salesman" behavior. Proper service is presently found everwhere in France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, etc., and was also commonplace in the USA until starting about 30 years ago.
