For the jacket I'm about to reline, I'd like to maybe use something with nude women on it.  Perhaps some Italian Renaissance motif.

Like FNB said that is not going to work. Tana lawn is a very very light weight but close weave cotton. Itd wear through in no time. How ever there is a shop in London that sell the liberty silks and im sure ive seen similar to that. Its an Indian owned place the name eludes me but ill find out.

Linen is thicker than silk so a smaller size.

About 13"x13" works well for me, but I don't do any elaborate poofery.
