I must agree with the analysis here.
What is it with the British collars?  They do seem to go higher or just angle funny.

Re: Suits from sacret cows - a critical review

Quite an extensive post in a more measured style and with no spelling eccentricities.

It is difficult to tell everything from a photograph. Many of those examples would look better if the suit was pressed. I have seen far worse than the bad examples cited.

I would agree that paying for bespoke does not automatically guarantee a better result than RTW with alterations, if you are a fairly standard size.

But these are just snapshots - maybe taken in a bad moment, especially when you look at the people wearing the suits, they normally strike this shock-frozen pose with their arms stretched out stiff etc.

I LOVE , this foum

Sleeves are also far too short for my liking in "good suit" 11.

Re: Suits from sacret cows - a critical review

There are a couple of tailors who appear on this forum who I imagine would do the job without fail. For example, the Italian gent who posts here has some double breasted jackets that are infinitely better than the ones in this thread. However using a local tailor which, whilst still expensive, is obviously cheaper than travelling the world, can be risky.

1- Various different cutters, cut the suits.
2-Some clients have less time of others.
3-Neapolitan school of Rubinacci/very soft almost destructurate tailoring (that  is not the only Neapolitan school) is full of folds and creases:  love it or leave (and i personally leave).

Vox always looks immaculate in his photos.

I note that he is also very gifted with photoshop.

The two facts may or may not be correlated.

I got threw out of Steed on Savile Row once for walking in whilst drinking a can of "Tango".

Re: Suits from sacret cows - a critical review

Fair comment - it is a decent looking suit. I don't like the shoulders though; perhaps that's subjective, but I wouldn't personally get excited by it.

I consider the double breasteds by the Italian tailor who posts on here to be infinitely better. Maybe that's more to do with a difference in style and/or my personal taste.
