How long does it take for your haircut to really kick in & look good?
I find the shorter the cut the longer the lead in time can be.
A short back & sides is great after a couple of washes over as many days. By then the hair has settled down and you don't have that undesirable 'Oh have you had your hair cut?' look.
However, a 'Princeton' takes about a week to settle down I find.
In both cases some slight growth of the hair is required to stop the ends looking too regular and 'fresh from the barbers'. The shorter the hair the more growth seems to be required to achieve this.
The advice to men about to marry is always to have your hair cut a week before the big day so that you'll look better in any photographs which may be taken. Men who ignore this tip and visit their barber the day before they get married are always spottable in their photos. They somehow don't look as relaxed and natural to my eye. Their appearance starts to look a little too studied and like a performance.
Ramble, ramble, ramble...

I stand corrected: Lisa did hit haircuts in the OPH.
AND I left Geroge P. in BAT out of my Ivy hair list.
I'm a bad poster.
I think the Cavalry cut may be too Anglo to be Ivy... Maybe it's some kind of advanced Ivy?
???
LOL!
And comes back home with a lot of other new bad habits too...
Old Chums,
A top hole topic indeed! Something to really sink your conversational teeth into, much like debating the chasis of Mercedes 240Ds. Luckily for you, my ol chum from University has already expounded on the proper trad haircut. Now fall in line.

Now what is this OPH that everyone keeps referring to? Oh yes, that book I saw someone reading under covers with a flashlight in University.
Cheers,
Trip

Ah, the the short back and sides (SB&S). Good to see others sporting this style.
Does anyone remember the barber shop in the basement of Harrods?
