Sure, who doesn't want to look like a American football player with his shoulder pads on.
I do have a soft spot for a pin stripe however.
The"power suit" is only the "bold look" under another name.
Big shoulders,big lapels,drape,lot of pleats,garish suspenders...
Take Gordon Gekko, put on it a hat,and is ready for the Fedora Lounge forum.
If i see to 80s prefer the double breasted suits of Prince Charles,or some Italian bespoke of that era...
...or,why not,the 1980-1988 Brooks Brothers and J Press suits.
Not these "power" things, or the crap of Armani.
I don't see it as FL territory, however otherwise I agree with the above. It belongs in the grave.
Yeah, it's not bad. He doesn't have his shoulders pushed out to caricature proportions.
Dunno. Logsdail sure claims it though.
Like with all these kinds of article all the people quoted give bankers too much credit for what they wear. Most bankers are morons. They just buy and wear whatever is in the shops right now. This explains the current skinny lapels and soft shoulders rather than any active choice to move away from power suits. I've had the bad luck to meet plenty of bankers. They care about big watches and sports cars but I've yet to meet one into clothes.
The watch thing is dead on.
