Re: Your Clothing Manifesto

Yes, WM. Agreed. I am somewhat surprised that this "trend" hasn't gone away yet. As a trend (and maybe it isn't that anymore) it has had amazing staying power. While the rap/hip hop culture seems to me to be a sub-culture that changes very rapidly, this particular style is remarkably persistent. But like other styles it has its use in identifying characteristics of the wearer.

To generalize (but not prejudicially, I have cultural and anecdotal evidence):

Saggy pants: Either a thug, or a thug wannabe. This style is not worn by low key, educated people. Ever. It is often worn by dangerous criminals. Stay clear and do not engage.

Orangey shoes with dark suits: Douchebag. Thinks highly of himself and thinks he is a lady killer. Untrustworthy scam artist. May work in a bucket shop. Certainly is out to take advantage of others.

T-shirt, jeans, and sneaker guy: Wants to feel safe and secure. Probably as boring as he looks. Cookie cutter man. May have a piece of paper that says he is an educated man, but he is not brilliant. Probably peaked in high school (if American). Some one-off athletic feat is his proudest moment. He will do anything his boss tells him. Lives pretty much in unrecognized fear.

Re: Your Clothing Manifesto

I've noticed the trend is moving slowly from baggy saggy, to tight and saggy.  Still horrible.

Re: Your Clothing Manifesto

Rabbits dribble and chew the covers off books
Rabbits watch sport on t.v or go to sports games (they haven't got more important things to do)
Rabbits sit in traffic (their time management strategies are often poor because they aren't important)
Rabbits line up in shops (poor time management because they aren't important)
Rabbits wear sneakers on the streets as daily wear.
Rabbits walk on the footpath too slow (they haven't got more important things to do, and a slow walk must match a slow mind) *snark icon*
Rabbits pay fines without question and usually forgo constitutional rights.
Rabbits watch the news.
Rabbits eat at restaurants.
Rabbits visit supermarkets and other mainstream shops.
Rabbits support large business and franchises.
Rabbits believe in education systems by using `the system's system'...they think it makes them smarter little rabbits because they are now booksmart by `that' system.

I love the rabbits, and l know plenty of them. Do youy know any rabbits fellas? Perhaps some of you are rabbit men....if you are, let us know by saying "yep, l am a confirmed rabbit man shooey". *wink*

So yes, rabbits LOVE systems created for them. I call it the matrix...the illusion.

Re: Your Clothing Manifesto

Funnily enough, my kids keep on mythering me for a rabbit, but before we ever get that far on the pet front, I wouldn't mind a large aquarium filled to the brim with neon-tetras and other glow-in-the-dark Amazonian fish. Just sit there all evening, with Ellington on, staring at them thinking about things. A good fire place can have same calming and contemplative effect. You have to clean them both regularly too.
