He's shit, I know that.
Bruce is OK not god tho.
Heppie, he's an interesting study in stage clothes, image and the notion of "authenticity" in music, or perhaps more correctly, rockist ideology.
I haven't seen much written about that and I haven't really followed him enough to do it myself. One day perhaps.
Never had any allegiance to "The Boss".
I'm trying block so WM doesn't see those trousers, otherwise it will push him to the limit.
I could list all the things I loathe about Springsteen's music, but one of the biggest is - and I'm sure you'll concur here WM - the DRUM SOUND. I fucking HATE it.
Harpo and WM - getting tha band back together boys?
Yup. With that over gated reverb on the snare that sounds like someone's whacking a bin lid.
On the fence about Springsteen.
Not really a fan, but his Tunnel of Love album is one of my favourite albums and I consider it his best work, and one of the best albums of the 80s.
Went to watch him live with a friend who's a a fan years ago, and thought him fabulous live...
He's got a touch of the Tom Cruises there, Ie. An utter c.unt
^
True, but even the real acoustic drums they recorded back then were often doctored beyond recognition with the use of gates, compression, echo, delay, flange, triggers, and on and on. The engineers were having a field day and indulging all the new toys at their disposal.
...Hmmm, Linn, the MPC range.
Nice to know Acton, thanks for that.
For me the worst drum machine abusers during the 80s wasn't so much Human League etc. it has to be the likes of Die Krupps, Clock DVA, Einstürzende Neubauten and all of that Industrial stuff who to be honest, I don't - and didn't - rate.

Big Black had to be the best use of drum machine ever.
^ damn right WM, like being hit by chunks of steel reinforced concrete.
Tho' The Sisters of Mercy original drum machine Dr Avalanche runs it a close second.
Big Black... Never listened to them before now WM. I've stumbled across lots of their LPs and always wondered what they would sound like.
Now I know!
They remind me of Ministry a wee bit:

Perhaps the gentry cannot appreciate him, but to compare to Tom Cruise is disgusting.
Nebraksa and Darkness on the Edge of Town are great. imo
I think he's had a face lift and he's definitely had a hair transplant.
